My skills and experience stem from when I first started to cook when I was 15 years old when I was studying food technology at school and landed my first job in an Italian restaurant based in Harrogate. I have since worked within the food sector in hospitality and catering and also in the more industrial side of food manufacturing, working in NPD, which is new product development.
I have over 10 years experience in the hands-on side of food preparation and hygiene and I have just under three years in the more science based side of food manufacturing. I have studied a bachelor of science specifically in nutrition food and health at Leeds Trinity University. The way I would normally teach is in a practical environment where everybody can be hands-on to visualise be physical, and to watch and learn the ways and means of food science. I would say I am able to cook quite a lot of cuisines however I would say my specialities are Asian fusion classic French and typical English to a very high standard. I have also worked in a three rosette fine dining restaurant as well as mainstream high-end gourmet Gastro pubs.
