Advert description
Allow me to tell you what I am NOT.
I'm not a classroom teacher trying to deliver boring content through a computer. I am a specialist. I have undergone extensive training and have many years' experience providing dynamic, engaging, and interesting lessons through a virtual medium.
I'm not a conventional teacher. I didn't leave school and go to college, the university, then teaching college. I left school and travelled the world working as a chef and having adventures which colour the way I teach. When I was much older, I decided to go to university and study engineering and since then research, teaching, and study have been a big bit of my life.
I am not a robot. I don't teach the same lesson to every student. I create a tailored experience for you based on your interests. This is a high-risk strategy; I once taught a whole year's worth of lessons through the medium of Pokémon. I don't use AI to plan lessons. I do believe that Arthur C Clarke got it right when he said, "Any teacher who can be replaced by a machine should be." I have also never been caught out by a ReCAPTCHA.
I'm not the person with ALL the answers. Sometimes, in the course of the lesson you may ask me a question to which I don't know the answer. GOOD. We can find out the answer together. Then we both learn something new. It doesn't matter if it's not on the syllabus, if it's interesting we should definitely find out more. I believe that education is a holistic experience. None of the subjects is entirely separate, they are all connected so maybe we might learn about the history of domestic electricity, the maths behind terminal velocity, the geology behind uranium mining, or the bizarre true story of the man behind thermal tiles on space shuttles.
Learning should be fun. If it isn't it's not the student's fault, it's the teacher's.
