Affordable and targeted private English lessons for GCSE, A-Level and University Level students

Advert description
Hello! I am an English Literature and Theatre Studies graduate and looking to go into the field of teaching. Currently, I work in recruitment but English is my passion and hopefully soon to be yours too! I have always had a passion for theatre and literature, so I thought why not combine my two loves and study them together. Since a young age, I have been performing on stage as a dancer and an actor, continuing on to the present day where I was part of my university's theatre society, performing original shows and some well loved classics.

I wanted to become a tutor for students in younger years because when I was partaking in GCSE's and A-Levels, I understood the importance of having a bit of extra support and guidance, which sometimes makes all the difference. Sometimes a bit of confidence in your work provided by someone outside of the classroom really helps. With previous tutoring experience for relatives and friends, I am sure to provide a safe, comfortable and relaxed working environment where the learning is focused on and driven by you, rather than completely led by me. You decide your own bright future!

Some of the key modules that I studied at university include ‘Poetry: Reading and Interpretation’, ‘Renaissance Literature’, ‘Theatre, Society and Self’, ‘Performing the Past’, ‘Postcolonial Literature’, ‘Theatricalities: Beckett, Pinter, Kane’ and ‘Shakespeare’.

When it comes to essay work, for me, it was always easier to break down and discuss the components of an English essay as opposed to dive right in. The result of this is that your understanding of what is being asked of you is greater and is often the difference between grades. Learning is a journey, not a straight forward process.

I look forward to meeting you and becoming a part of your educational journey!
