Advert description
I am Chris and having spent over 12 years’ working within global blue-chip organisations across retail, finance and technology in commercial and strategy focused roles. I now want to follow my passion of using my hard-won experience in my career and business to help others who are taking their first steps in to the world of work.
I have a degree in Management (Int) from the University of Leeds, I am an accredited project manager through the Association of Project Management and I have completed a Post Graduate Certification in Executive Coaching at Henley Business School in August’22.
What makes me different is that I have an academic background and an up to date lived experience in business, something that I think will be a valuable asset when working with students on how to think in a realistic way about their skills and careers.
The experience I have gained working within and for multiple companies in many industries, coupled with my academic background and coaching mindset, means that I will be able to help work with students on the skills and qualities that they will need but with the life context around what happens day to day in a business.
I understand that working with students brings its own challenges and nuances. For over 9 years I have supported second and third year students at Leeds University Business School. In this capacity I have learned how to engage and talk on the right level, not as the intimidating professional but a working partner who treats them with respect, meeting them where they are. In addition, because I am only 35, I believe I bring a level of relatability which helps put individuals at ease too.
With a knack for asking the right question, a genuine curiosity to listen and a straight talking Yorkshire style I believe that I could add a lot of value to the team and students that I will be working with.
