Geography & Science tutor providing lessons for all ages

Advert description
I am a graduate in BSc Environmental Science and also have a postgraduate Masters of Research degree in Marine Biology with a collaboration within the Marine Biological Association and Plymouth Marine Laboratory. I love everything environmental and I love engaging and immersing students in learning and helping them on their journey to achieve their goals.
I know how difficult it is first hand to get exactly where you want to be in the world of academia and I am confident I can help you achieve your targets and goals to get yourself there! Every student learns and absorbs information differently. It's important to make sure every lesson is directly suited to each students' needs and learning requirements. Therefore I love to ensure my students get to talk to me about the best ways that help them to learn - whether that be visual, auditory based, written or practical.

All sessions incorporate a range of resources and learning techniques such as exam questions, videos, interactive activities and taught content.

It’s so important not to feel pressured or stressed during tutoring. That’s why session always run at a relevant and required pace tailored to the individual. We will discuss things together and you won’t be made to feel bad if you get something wrong. I’m here to help you achieve your goals, not to make you feel bad for needing help. There is no such thing as silly questions and I encourage you to ask anything, at any point in the session.

It’s important to know that these sessions are solely about you and I adhere to do everything I can to help you on your learning journey.

In our first session together we will talk about your strengths within the subject and then discuss what topics we need to review together and do further work on. We will generate session objectives and review these at the end of the lesson to assess progress, as well as discussing what we plan to do in the next session. I will consistently let you know of the progress you’re making and equally highlight areas that still need further work.

Tutoring can sometimes be daunting and it’s okay to feel like that. I am a patient, understanding and approachable tutor and I pride myself on ensuring my students feel comfortable in my lessons.

Anneliese is a great tutor who helped me prepare for my AS Level geography exam in only a few months. The lessons are very well structured with detailed powerpoints, videos and exam questions. Very happy with my improvements in understanding the concepts of topics I've struggled with thank to Anneliese.

Anneliese helped my daughter considerably with her GCSE Geography. My daughter is a very shy and anxious individual and Anneliese has really helped her to gain her confidence in the subject. My daughter loves Geography and the school environment wasn't offering her enough support to excel. Anneliese was able to assist my daughter with this and she's really helped her grades!

I came to Anneliese wanting some help with my GCSE biology. Anneliese's expertise really helped me to improve in the subject. I never felt rushed and Anneliese ensured I was always definitely happy with a topic before we moved on. Working through exam questions and breaking them down slowly really helped me too. There were lots of different methods of teaching, although we discussed that I work best with visual learning so we spent a lot more time with video tools and interactive whiteboards to assist in my learning.
