I have a Master's Degree in Foreign Languages for the International Cooperation and Communication. I have been recently working as an English teacher at the Filippo Brignone Middle School in Pinerolo (Piedmont, Italy)
I had the chance to help my students to acquire a broader perspective. Indeed, starting from the English language and culture, I helped them recognizing English as an instrument not only to communicate among themselves but also to have a look at other cultures and languages of interests of even related to the migration background of some students ‘families.
Beyond grammatical and lexical knowledge, one of my greatest goals was the perception of English (and foreign languages in general) as a powerful instrument of knowledge to deepen interests, hobbies instead of a mere compulsory subject to study.
Practically speaking, I used to construct maps (during theoretical explanations) and create made-on-purpose exercises and final tests set (to apply their acquired knowledge) trying to cope each individual’s difficulties and make his/hers points of strength emerge.
Furhtermore, I have a C1 competency in German (certified by both my Bachelor and Master’s Degree).
Additionally, I also can speak French (B1/B2 level) and Japanese (I have already taken the N4 JLPT and I am currently preparing for the advanced level N2 JLPT to be taken in December 2023 in Düsseldorf.
