My method for teaching note-reading and rhythms is very easy. We begin wih easy, fun melodies and progress to classical, popular and modern repertoire.
I share with my students my love and appreciation for music while working to instill confidence in them. I help them develop a sense of pride in their achievements. This is important even at the very beginning of their studies. I feel that it is crucial to provide constant praise and encouragement, and to find ways of making every lesson fun and enjoyable.
All of my students quickly gain a sense of security and they feel that they are in good hands. It is important that I identify with their difficulties, whether they be technical or psychological, and demonstrate constant solidarity with them along their journey to learning to play the piano.
