Advert description
Hello, my name is Briony, and I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from Newcastle University, along with specialism in SEN (Special Educational Needs). Before becoming a full-time tutor, I worked as a science teacher in an alternative provision, where I gained extensive experience supporting students with a variety of educational needs, such as ASD, ADHD, ADD, and more. A key strength in my role at the provision was my patience and empathy, understanding the need to explain topics more slowly and repeat instructions to ensure students could fully grasp the material. Now, I aim to transfer these skills to my tutoring practice.
Having achieved top grades, including 9s in Science and 8 in Maths, as well as A-level Biology and AS-level Core Maths, I have personal experience navigating the 9-1 GCSE system. I also have access to a wide range of resources aligned with the national curriculum to enrich my tutoring sessions. Additionally, I have significant experience working with home-schooled students, particularly those with diverse educational and mental health needs. I am dedicated to building a comfortable environment for my students, boosting their confidence, and providing tailored support as they work towards their GCSEs. My experience with EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) students further ensures that I offer personalized and effective guidance. All home schooling work is fully approved by education officers.
