Advert description
Hello, my name is Sophie Juan, I am a French native from Paris. I have now been living in England for 25 years. I have a degree in languages and a PGCE.
I have been teaching French in schools for 25 years. I was a mainstream GCSE and A level teacher for 10 years then specialised in creating my own scheme of work and have been delivering ever since. I am now a part time teacher and focusing on tutoring French.
I teach all levels, I fully dedicate myself to the progress of my students of all ages.
With secondary students, I can help to improve grammar, conjugation, writing skills, pronunciation, GCSE exam skills. I use games to practise and consolidate knowledge. I use text book materials as well as authentic materials from French websites and magazines. I can also provide homework to consolidate further the sessions learning.
With primary children, I work with some finger rhymes, mimes, poems, stories, songs and games to acquire vocabulary.
I also help to support secondary educators, advanced students, professionals to enhance their level of French language and culture for academically, professional or personal purposes.
I always engage my students by using a variety of strategies tailored to their specific needs and I always check their understanding as the lesson progresses and revisit what has been learnt before the following lesson.
I always build students confidence very quickly so that they both progress rapidly and find the process rewarding and enjoyable.
I am greatly enjoying watching them all progress! I use my own teaching methods to improve pronunciation and this has proven successful.
I am really looking forward to teaching you!!
