English Tutor Providing Lessons to GSCE and A-Level Students

Good afternoon! My Name is Stephanie Boram, I am a recent Law Graduate from the University of Durham and hope to make a difference in student’s academic lives through tutoring. The reason I want to tutor English is because the impetus of my own academic success was my English tutor, who gave me the confidence, one-on-one training and a tailored program that led to me feeling confident in my studies and eager to achieve. As a result, I graduated with an ATAR of 97.8 in Australia and achieved marks within the top bands of all my subjects, particularly English Advanced and English Extension, as well as the Premier's Award for All-Round Excellence. This created a deep love of English Literature, creative writing and more broadly, the written word, and I hope to share that with students and help others achieve their academic goals. I truly believe that a strong command of the written word, and its ability to persuade by extension, is an imperative skill that all students should have. It was this foundation that personally led me to complete my Law Degree at the University of Durham, where I felt I was well-equipped to engage with rigorous academic debates, harness the proverbial pen and form balanced and articulate arguments, all thanks to the foundation of my English studies. I also love working with people and hope that I can create a wonderful rapport with students through my approachable and friendly attitude.
