I have a BA honors Degree specialising in Music Production, Music Technology Support and music for beginners. I repair musical instruments and also build instruments from scratch e.g. bass, guitar and flutes. I repair music tech-associated products. E.G. Microphones, recording consoles and P.C
I have mainly worked with learners from 16 to adults, and have helped people from very diverse backgrounds, needs and abilities. My experience enables me to cover most musical genres, relating to the taste and preference of each student. I enjoy carrying out tasks in all aspects of a working studio, in both the live and control room.

I am also trained in helping students with academic research, and if needed can assist learners to create an achievable progression path, into work or progression relevant to Higher Education. All needs will also be supported with soft skills i.e. help in the removal of any barriers to learning and participation in critical listening sessions so you are equipped to make creative choices yourself.
On a personal level, I am easy going in my delivery and whilst maintaining a professional manner, I am aware that sometimes content can be a complicated or difficult concept for some learners to initially understand, in which case my approach can be very flexible with time and care given to reiterate in a way that makes the content easier to relate to or remember. I love delivering content in the traditional lecture format but I am equally happy delivering a workshop session, either way I try to get the students to question the subject matter so they are simultaneously absorbing content and understanding the creative process such as, safety, industry standard practices as well as creative choices and the use of vintage and 'cutting edge' tools.
It is very important to have a class-wide understanding to a required standard whilst promoting a happy, creative environment that fulfills the expectations of students of all abilities. When required, I take a bespoke approach one-to-one for maximum knowledge retention, understanding and personal management. You will not need a knowledge of music theory but will be expected to show a willingness for critical and creative thinking
