I have a very good understanding of my subjects (grade 8/9 student) and will able to provide tailored lessons.

Having previous experience with mentoring children, I would get to know the student, and introduce myself. Also, I would tell them that I can relate and was once in there position. I will then ask the student what they need help in particular or how I could help them in the best way. Then I will plan lessons in advance and while teaching them, keep the atmosphere nice and light. And most importantly, making sure the recipient gets a good understanding of the subject.
