In the case of teaching, i prefer the student to tell me what it is that they're studying currently or struggling to understand, and after ensuring that my understand is up to standards (either through reading or researching on the internet) i will then break down and explain the topic to them in depth, on a one to one level. Alternatively, if i am told the criteria prior to the lesson, i will be able to provide my own lesson and information on the subject, which i will acquire through my own research.
