English and Mathematics Tutor

I taught youngsters who had a late start to formal education in an institution for homeless children in Bekasi, Indonesia. I explored different teaching methods and worked patiently and supportively to meet the needs or conditions of the students - some who have severe learning difficulties.

I also worked patiently and supportively with a range of students with disabilities from paraphlegia, polio, to those disabled due to road or industrial accidents. I was part of a team whose goals were to enable the disabled students to live independently, by increasing their employability through teaching new skills.

These experienced have helped me to develop my empathy and gain strong interpersonal skills which I believe are crucial to succeed in a teaching role.
