Advert description
I am a senior examiner for Cambridge International, specialising in I-GCSE English (First Language) Reading and Writing. I have been marking these exam papers for nearly ten years so have a keen understanding of the nuances of how they are marked. If you want to find out why writing a thesis statement at the start of a reading summary is a terrible idea, or why memorising and reproducing a description of a sunset 'over an azure sea, framed by a cerulean sky' isn't always a ticket to an A-grade on the Writing paper, then I may be the person to help you.
Lessons will be based around detailed work throughs of as many exam papers as you like at a pace set by you. I can mark your attempts live and feedback in lesson, alternately you can complete and submit the entire paper between lessons, which I will then mark. We can then have a lesson of detailed feedback and explanation of the marking rationale. If it’s just one section or question type that you’re struggling with, then we can work on part exam papers or tasks targeting that particular skill.
I believe that a course of as few as three or four one hour lessons could make a huge difference to your confidence and performance in this exam.
