I am an enigmatic, highly adaptable individual who has the ability to work under pressure and in confidence with colleagues, superiors and students alike. I excel in all aspects of Further Education/Higher Education Teaching and Learning Development having dedicated years to developing my interpersonal, communication and engaging skills. I am an experienced and qualified Skill for Life tutor and mentor with 9 years’ service to the Lifelong Learning sector and 5 years in Family learning, supporting a wide range of students from Entry level to Level 4. I am working for Stroud College as Lecturer in Level 3 Creative Practice and Tech support for photographic arts .I am presently studying MA in Photography after completing a BA in Documentary Photography at the university of Gloucestershire and worked as professional photographer in the private sector with 15 years in the medical photography & Illustration for the NHS.I have worked as Community Development worker for Leeds City Council’s Employment and skills department supporting and training people in the Leeds community. In moving down to Hampshire, I have been working as NVQ Assessor for private providers and College such as Chichester College. have developed, facilitated, and delivered workplace learning and personal development training to enhance employability using the core framework of Personal and Social Development (ASDAN) in essential and functional skills for students with additional learning needs.
Before and throughout my teaching career I have attended many courses covering areas of knowledge relating to the governance, effective communication and mentorship. I am good at analysing critical issues, challenges and priorities, resolving them in an efficient and resourceful manner through the use of good communication and experience. I enjoy being part of successful and productive learning environments and thrive in challenging situations. I am dedicated, motivated and continually striving to maintain and develop new skills and take on new challenges.
