I can use a variety of different teaching methods and lesson plans, depending on what the student finds most engaging and easy to understand. I use clear diagrams, videos and some of my own notes to help the student understand the main points, explaining the content in a way that the student finds easy to understand. I find using mnemonics, summary notes and active recall techniques are most effective for learning content. Once the student has grasped the key concepts I usually follow up with some practice questions/quizzes to see if they can apply their knowledge, and if there are any parts they need more assistance with.
I have experience in tutoring my younger brothers during S1 and S2, and in the run up to their national 5s. They found that often I could explain content in an easier way to understand, than the teachers. I am studying human biology at university and am currently going into 3rd year, so biology is where my expertise lies, however, I am also able to confidently tutor maths and english, as well as psychology, as I’ve had to use all of these subject areas for my degree. I can also tutor national 5 chemistry.
I am a kind, patient and understanding 19 year old student, with a passion for learning, my goal to help students achieve the best they possibly can, with my help. I understand how difficult it can be when you simply cannot grasp a concept in a subject you want to excel at, and I want to make sure that students have essential help and support. In the run up to exams, it is so important for students to feel confident in their abilities, and I hope that I can help anyone struggling with school work, so they can excel.
