Primary School teacher with experience in tutoring one to one to raise attainment and confidence in any tricky areas

My previous experience (12 years) in both an early years setting as an early years practitioner and later as a childminder has equipped me with the ability to understand learning and development from birth through the school stages. I believe this knowledge and experience has helped in my current role as a primary school teacher and allows me to see the progression through the stages. My past experience has also influenced the kind of practitioner I am and as a result I place a large emphasis on nurture within my class.
Another area I have experience in, given one year spent working in an independent day and residential school for autistic young people, is working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. The knowledge gained during this previous post has proved beneficial in helping some children in my primary class to reach their full potential with an understanding of the barriers they face and helping them to regulate emotions and understand their school world.
I plan fun, engaging lessons that I have found increase confidence in the child and make learning seem like less of a chore to those who struggle.
