First-class Edinburgh University MA Japanese graduate offering Japanese tutoring for Beginner and Intermediate levels

Advert description
I hold a First-Class degree with distinction in spoken Japanese from the University of Edinburgh and have firsthand experience of the Japanese language and culture through my time living in Japan and studying at Seikei University in Tokyo, as well as working as an English teacher there.
My self-driven study in multiple languages and musical instruments has further shaped my understanding of how to effectively teach and learn new skills. Though I am not a native speaker of Japanese, I believe that I offer an invaluable perspective on how to learn the language having learned it myself, and I am very eager to share it with others!

I teach using methods that helped me excel in Japanese, focusing on techniques that maximize retention and comprehension, such as spaced repetition and active recall. Drawing on my time living and working in Japan, I incorporate cultural aspects into lessons to provide a deeper understanding of how the language is used in everyday life. Whether you are learning for academic reasons, exams, conversational fluency, or just for fun, lessons are tailored to fit your individual goals!

I also integrate scientifically backed memory-enhancing techniques such as mnemonics, flashcards, and interval learning to support long-term retention.
Lessons are typically 60 minutes, but can be adjusted according to your preference.

Lessons are for students from absolute beginner level with no prior knowledge of Japanese up to Intermediate learners (up to JLPT N2 level).
Suitable for all ages, including those preparing for exams, those seeking to improve their Japanese, or just for fun!
