Advert description
I achieved an A* in my Law A-Level in 2020, so I am familiar with the syllabus and know first-hand how to score high marks on the exam :)
I also have experience as a volunteer tutor for a local secondary school homework club for more than 2 years, assisting with core subjects, French, and History. I am organised and appreciate the importance of explaining difficult content in a digestible way, and feel comfortable tutoring 1-1.
Format of my lessons: In the initial meeting, I would seek to scope out the weaknesses and gaps in knowledge that the student has. This will be done by finding the specification of the exam board the student is studying and asking questions about what they feel least comfortable in. Then, for the first lesson, I would plan the lesson based on one of those topics, including an interactive explanation followed by exam question practice. I would also likely set semi-regular practice questions for the student to answer in their own time and I would mark this to improve exam technique.
I think learning should be fun, encouraging and interactive; to achieve this, I will utilise a plethora of teaching techniques, such as games and knowledge checkpoint quizzes alongside mock assessments.
