Hello!

My name is Adam and I am an artist living and working in Glasgow. I have a First Class Honours degree in Fine Art Painting from the Camberwell College of Arts, University of the Arts London. I work professionally as an artist as well as in community arts, leading art clubs and classes within a few Glasgow-based arts charities.

I specialise in drawing from observation, life drawing, and technical approaches to both painting and drawing. The core of my training comes from having studied on a medium-specific BA course which taught me in detail some formal processes of visual artmaking. I have been drawing from life since a young teenager and have a keenness for portraiture, coloured pencils, art on paper, and oil paint.

I have a really varied experience in tutoring drawing and painting; I have led recurring classes for people over 60, run workshops for adults with disabilities, and art groups for children ages 5 to 12. I am confident working with a huge range of proficiency. For a less experienced student, I can offer you guidance, support, teaching or introduction of new skills, and we can set some goals for your future in artmaking. For more experienced students, we can work to take your skills further, learn some higher technical processes and how to use more specialised tools and materials, and study the Charles Bargue method of observational drawing.

Aside from practical lessons in drawing and painting, I am available for academic tutoring for college and university students or prospective applicants. I am well experienced in academic writing and editing up to PhD level, and can offer proofreading and research feedback as an additional service. Applicants to art college or university are also able to contact me for guidance with portfolio and interview preparation.

My lessons are home visits for all Glasgow and wider central Scotland locations, and can be scheduled over Zoom for students located elsewhere in the UK.
