I have over 15 years experience as a Maths 1:1 Tutor and hold a PGCE in Secondary Maths Education (KS3 and 4)

My approach is that the student must own their learning, that is, they have questions ready to ask at the beginning of any session. This can come from their lessons at school, or from past exam paper questions or from homework. To get the most out of every session I expect them to be eager to ask questions that they don’t understand.
