Tailored guitar tuition with speciality in improvisation

My name is James and I am an experienced session player and guitar tutor based out of Cornwall. My aim is to make learning an instrument enjoyable as quickly as possible which leads to students practicing more and improving on a much bigger scale.

I have my own unique methodology and a different way of looking at things which has helped me become one of the top guitarists in the county and I'm eager to find more students both near and afar that I can share this with.

I am especially skilled at improvising and believe that the key to making music more enjoyable is to encourage songwriting and expressive playing as soon as possible, giving you all the tools do go as far as you want to whilst also receiving consistent encouragement from myself.

I also believe that you shouldn't force anyone to learn an instrument and that the decision to practice and will to improve must come primarily from the student so that they enjoy it on their own terms. I provide the structure, tools and encouragement but it is still up to the student how far they want to go.
