Advert description
I am currently completing my final year of studies to achieve my undergraduate degree at Royal Holloway University of London. I have always been an avid historian, with an interest to learn and expand my knowledge across several key periods in the past. The past four years I have worked as a police constable in Bedfordshire police. These four years had allowed me to gain skills which are detrimental for an opportunity such as this. The police pushed me to work well as a team, hold a degree of responsibility in whichever scenario that was put to me, and show leadership when needed. It has also allowed me to deal with high pressure situations and be able to adapt and overcome this barriers. These skills would be useful for a tutor when teaching students. I would need to be responsible of what I am teaching students and show that I can lead many to achieve the best out of themselves. Different students have different needs. Undoubtedly, there will be situations where some students struggle more than others in certain topics or the pace as to which they are being taught. This is something I would be ready to adapt to and overcome, but also go out of my way to help these students by finding more effective methods to teach them. Over the years, my interest in teaching has grown significantly. I aim to become a full time tutor in the future. This is why I believe I am currently suitable for this role
