If you have continued reading, it is my guess that you don't want to continue on a path that leads you to a career accomplished but burnt out forty-something that has realised everything they've worked for has not brought an ounce of happiness. Perhaps something doesn't sit right with you, perhaps it never has. You are gifted with intellect and work hard to achieve your goals, you have tasted success and yet..... I'm not trying to gain disciples or even write a book. I won't even tell you what to do. What I will do is challenge your character, the role you play in life, your ego sense of self.
