In any teaching role, my ultimate goal is to provide students with the tools and confidence to think and work independently when it comes to writing about literature. I always aim to encourage students to consider my teaching as an extension of their own processes of idea formulation, rather than as an exercise in which I communicate my own thoughts on how to write and think about texts. This will involve serving as a soundboard for ideas and offering feedback on any writing that students have produced in order to give them the skills to improve their own work in the future.
