Qualified nurse with 5 years of tutoring experience, with a passion for teaching Biology and English!

My name is Tara and I offer tutoring for English Language and Biology at A Level and GCSE, as well as help with personal statements. I have tutored for the past 5 years and have found a passion for teaching. I work as a nurse at Marie Curie Hospice and I have a strong fascination for biology, especially human anatomy. I also have a passion for English Language and enjoy creative writing in my spare time.

My main priority throughout my sessions will be making sure my student is feeling comfortable and that we are going at a pace that suits them. My first session will be a discussion of what type of teaching works for my student, and after this has been identified I will use a range of techniques to help subject content appear clear and understandable. These techniques include verbal explaining, diagrams, creating mind maps together or writing concise flashcards that include key points on subject matter.

After the student feels confident on subject knowledge we will move onto past paper questions, as through my experience I have found that practicing exam questions is the most effective way to achieving higher grades.
