Highly Effective Social Science Teacher

Michael is an educator committed to the principles of engagement, education, and empowerment. He taught middle school, high school, and executive courses for mid- and senior-level international security practitioners (military officers and diplomats) from 46 countries at a US Regional Engagement Center in Hawaii. His best skill is helping young people understand (1) history, (2) systems, and (3) ways to apply academic knowledge to address unpredictable, real-world scenarios.

Outside of the classroom, Michael enjoys time with family and is active in the US-Japan Goodwill Baseball Exchange between the State of Hawaii and Japan's Ehime Prefecture.
