Former Associate Professor teaches Philosophy, English, Art, History

Hello!

My name is Demelza and I'm an academic and filmmaker. I've worked 8 years full-time at universities in England and Scotland as Senior Lecturer and later as Associate Professor. I taught film production for the BA (Hons) Film, MA Film, and MA Art in Science. As part of these jobs I supervised BA dissertations and MA theses, both written in English.

Thanks to my PhD in Film, MA Philosophy, and BA Archaeology I could teach on courses relating to Philosophy, Art, History, and English.

In March 2023 I resigned from my job as Associate Professor to focus on my filmmaking for which I need to travel frequently. I could not merge this with my in-person role at a University in Scotland, hence I had let this job go.

My films and video installations have been shown worldwide in renowded film festivals and museums such as Festival Du Nouveau Cinéma Montréal, Hamptons IFF, Edinburgh IFF, Zinebi, Full Frame, Finnish Museum of Photography Helsinki, Museum of Contemporary Art Antwerp [M HKA], FACT Liverpool, and The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul [MMCA].
