Maths student at Durham University with over a year of tuition experience offering private maths tuition for all ages

I am currently a first year undergraduate at Durham University studying a Master’s in Mathematics, after having gained high A*s in both Maths and Further Maths A-Levels. I have worked as a maths tutor for 1 year at the company First Class Learning, with students ranging from the ages of 4 to 16. I supported these students in a variety of ways, taking them through worksheets on various topics, recapping things they had previously learned in school and walking them through past GCSE papers. My lessons are tailored to each specific student, and I spend time on topics or concepts that they struggle with within the curriculum, go through exam technique and talk about how to handle specific types of questions so that the student can feel confident when working through an exam paper. As I have only recently completed my GCSE and A-Level qualifications, I have a solid grasp of the curriculum but also remember what it is like to be in the position of the students sitting the exam, and I understand what it takes to achieve the top grades in those exams. My ability to establish this connection with students is what makes me stand out from a lot of other tutors.
