Enthusiastic Bio/Math Tutor in the US Willing to Teach

Advert description
I have been tutoring for the last 4 years and am currently working on a teacher credential in the USA particularly in CA.

I am confident in my ability to help high school students learn math and biology. In the US, I have been preparing students for AP biology and AP Calculus. AP is the USA For math, I typically cover math work like multiplying conjugates, square roots, derivatives, probability, and gradients. I also make sure that my students can memorize trigonometry and appropriate formulas.

For Biology, I have helped review key ideas in cell organelles, antibiotics, immune system, digestive system, respiratory system, enzymes, and the heart.

I also am familiar with working on zoom and sharing files through zoom. I also have a drawing tablet to show work or write key points out.

Although there may be a culture difference and special terminology difference like slope and gradient, I do believe that those can be easy to overcome. I am patient and passionate about teaching.

My lesson plan typically involves engaging the student with their own classwork. I try to emphasize things that they would see again in the future and keep track of what they may struggle with. I use a lot of repetition to make sure they begin to memorize the process. I also try to connect with my students about their interests and try to connect a concept to the material. For example, I have connected evolution to how cars or phones have evolved over time.

I chose Durham because I did teach a family friend in Durham GCSE Biology/Math/ Chem Part 1 last year.
