Advert description
I am currently in the first year of my MBiol Biology degree at the University of York, studying a range of biological areas from genetics to plant ecology.
Last summer (2023) I achieved three A*'s at A-Level, including AQA Biology, with it being the strongest mark out of my subjects. I believe that the content required for A-Level Biology is not inherently difficult. It can easily be memorised through consistent repetition. As I'm sure many students can relate to, the mark schemes for the subject, however, are unforgiving, and sometimes completely unfair. The true challenge of A-Level Biology is knowing what to write, when to write it, and how to write it: it is almost a game. This is where I know I can help students.
Lessons will be include solidifying knowledge of the subject content, but also an emphasis on exam technique. This can range from studying mark schemes, analysing different types of questions and their intricate wording, and learning to revise in smarter, more effective ways. These methods will be crucial in ensuring students begin to boost their marks and achieve top grades in the summer to meet any post-18 offer requirement.
