Teacher with 10 years of teaching experience and experienced tutor, with a Masters degree in English Literature

Hello! I have a PGCE in Secondary English, as well as a Masters degree in English, and have been a teacher for 10 years. I have experience of teaching Year 7 - Year 13, and have taught English Language GCSE, Literature GCSE, and all three English A Levels, as well as GCSE resit students. The last few years I have specialised in 6th form teaching, but have taught GCSE classes of all abilities. I also have experience of marking for exam boards and have a good understanding of what they are looking for.

I have an excellent track record of students achieving their target grades, whether that is stretching higher ability students or supporting those who struggle with English.

I have tutored GCSE and A Level students, using a friendly and supportive approach which balances nurturing the students' interest in the subject, expressing their own ideas or arguments, and creative ability, with expectations for essay writing, coursework, and exams.

I have been consistently been praised throughout my career for the quality of my teaching resources and rapport with students.
