I have over 10 years’ experience of working in Management and Leadership roles. This includes effectively leading and coaching teams of Employment Coaches along their journey to support people into employment opportunities. My effective management style included using mentoring and coaching skills to support my team with their performance. I successfully coached my team to achieve and exceed their monthly key performance targets. This was achieved by utilizing my coaching skills which aims to help my team to understand and identify their skills and talents. A technique used successfully to achieve peak performance is the GROW (Goal, Reality, Options, Will) model; a model aimed to build rapport with the student, by goal setting and problem solving. I will use this effective model to support the student to gain clarity and purpose of their expectations by setting achievable goals. During this process, the student and I will create a sense of accountability which will improve confidence and productivity, thus working to achieve goals successfully. I will be the point of guidance for the students. My support will be by way of regular one-one coaching meetings to monitor progress. I’ll prepare a GROW model programme and will use lesson plans to break down elements within this model, that will embed the new ways of thinking and putting into practice, newly developed processes, that will improve the students’ academic performance.
