Advert description
Poetry has always been more than a craft or a profession for me; it is a way to engage deeply with the world, finding beauty and meaning in even the smallest details. As a poet living with multiple sclerosis, I am constantly reminded of the power of language to reflect, transcend, and transform. My journey with MS has brought unique challenges, but it has also deepened my empathy, broadened my perspective, and sharpened my voice, compelling me to create poetry that speaks honestly to the complexities of the human experience.
In the classroom, my experiences as both an artist and someone managing a chronic illness have enriched my teaching in profound ways. With over 10 years of teaching experience, I strive to foster a supportive and dynamic learning environment, one that celebrates each student’s unique voice. I believe that effective teaching is a collaborative, creative process, where the barriers between teacher and student dissolve in a shared pursuit of discovery. My goal is always to equip students not just with technical skills, but with the confidence to see themselves as poets, thinkers, and changemakers.
My weakness is that sometimes I can be too passionate about English languagh. Although, that is not a terrible weakness to have.
