Advert description
In teaching art, I use a range of different artistic methods and techniques such as embroidery, painting, clay/sculpture, screen printing etc. my passion for art is fuelled by a range of literature and poems. From childhood fairytales to Greek myths, historical text and Shakespeare. I’m drawn into the way fictional literature in particular has an emotional impact in today’s modern society.
My experience includes supporting teaching staff with administrative duties such as photocopying and ordering supplies , contributing to the planning and implementation of appropriate and age relevant programmes of activities in conjunction with other staff, providing 1 to 1 tailored support for students and Working with a diverse groups of students from beginners exploring their creativity to advance students looking to explore and refine skills and techniques.
I aim to create an engaging learning curriculum that balances skills and development with creative exploration which involves structured lessons on fundamental techniques. Incorporating hands on demonstration by showing step by step processes for students to see and how techniques can be applied in their work. I also like to encourage students to ask questions and engage in discussion during demonstrations to foster a collaborative learning environment. I encourage students to find their unique voices , I support this by assigning projects that allow for personal interpretation and self expression. Providing feedback sessions where students can present their work and receive constructive critiques from both myself and peers.
Alongside incorporating literature with art, I also like to incorporate art history and art appreciation into lessons by analysing different art movements and styles over the years which allows students to develop a deeper understanding of the concepts, context and the cultural significance of art.
