I am writing to express my interest in the Art Tutor position.

Advert description
My journey in the arts has been deeply rooted in both academic training and community engagement, and I am passionate about using creativity to support and inspire children and young people. I hold a Master’s degree in Fine Art, which I completed with Distinction two years ago. During this time, I developed a deep appreciation for how the arts can shape identity, build confidence, and foster emotional expression—especially among children and young people. My postgraduate studies included an Apprenticeship in Christian Art, where I explored the historical role of visual storytelling and learned from artist-theologians preserving early art practices. This deepened my understanding of the power of art to communicate across barriers and generations. Since graduating, I have gained hands-on experience as an Art Instructor, Primary School Cover Teacher, and Teaching Assistant, working with children aged 4–14. I currently lead arts and crafts sessions in both school and community settings, helping children develop artistic skills while also supporting their wider development and wellbeing. Alongside my paid work, I am actively involved in several volunteer initiatives. I work with the NSPCC to support children experiencing emotional and mental health challenges and volunteer at ACE Art and Music Therapy, where I assist in sessions for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. These experiences have enhanced my sensitivity to children's emotional needs and strengthened my ability to create nurturing, inclusive spaces for creative exploration. I also run a flower-making community project with my mother, where I teach young people to create handmade flowers that are donated to hospital patients. This initiative combines creativity, community-building, and emotional literacy—values that I bring into all of my teaching. Having personally experienced how powerful education can be, I am committed to helping children access the same encouragement and opportunities I was given. I believe in an approach to teaching that is both skill-based and heart-led—fostering curiosity, resilience, and joy in creative learning. Thank you for considering my application. I would welcome the opportunity to bring my skills and experience to your team and to contribute to a meaningful and inspiring art education programme.
