BA World Languages graduate with a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language

My name is Maeve and I have recently completed my BA World Languages degree. I majored in German and Irish but also studied a number of linguistics modules which gave me an insight into topics such as language acquisition and translation strategies and practices. I have obtained a Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language from the TEFL Institute of Ireland. I spent a year studying in Germany, where I met people from all over the world. As a former student of languages, I am familiar with how overwhelming learning a language can be. I would love to share the skills and knowledge I have acquired to teach and support others learning English. I am committed to building rapport with students and creating lessons with their needs, interests, learning style, strengths and weaknesses in mind.
