I completed my schooling in India which is said to have rigorous mathematics courses. I scored 99/100 in my class X and 98/100 in my XII. I know exactly what, or how should be covered to get better grades, as I completed my schooling only a few years ago.
I plan to teach descriptively. First, I will cover the exercises and we will go through the problems together. Then I will ask to do a few similar sums as homework and the next day I will discuss the problems and then start with new exercises. I will closely follow whatever will be taught in the class so, that understanding things is easier. I will try and finish the syllabus well before the exam dates so that there is sufficient time to go through all the problems and revise as much as needed. I will hold bi-weekly exams to check the progress. This will ensure that each topic is understood well.
After all this in case there is still some problem, I can always sit down and go through the questions again. I always accept questions and I am more than ready to answer all the queries. We can also have a review session at the end of each session where any problems related to my teaching style or pace can be discussed. I believe this process is highly effective for getting better grades. Lastly, I will also go through the previous year's question papers to get a better idea of what can potentially appear in the exams.
