TEFL certified teacher with a native level of the English language

My work experience is well-varied and ranges from working in an after school centre for at-risk youth, to running a busy venue where I was managing a team and organising events.
During my two years working with at-risk youth, I spent my time building connections with the kids, helping them with homework, proof-reading their essays and writing recommendation letters for them. This job was incredibly rewarding and fulfilling as students engaged with mentors and became motivated to work hard and work towards a positive future.
During the summers, I worked for the same company at their summer camps with younger groups of kids where we had to plan stimulating and engaging activities daily.
During and after University I worked as a Nursery teacher, aiding kids in their development between the ages of 1-3 years old and planning activities in accordance with the Early Years Foundation.

My lessons will be focused on involving students rather than lecturing, and using culturally relevant media and real-world experiences to give students the opportunity to practice speaking English in an effective and fun way.
