I am a recent graduate, excited to help you with your genetics and biology queries !

I studied my undergraduate degree in Genetics, Psychology and human physiology. I then went on to complete my honours in Genetics. Whilst studying I taught as a private tutor, from 2020 to the beginning of 2024. These lessons were one on one and focused on exam techniques and ironing out any misunderstandings students had with prescribed work. I enjoy trying to integrate students' interests into lessons to make the information more accessible. I normally start lessons with a quick catch up and to start the lesson on a personal note and continue on the lesson. I normally ask before the lesson what the child would like to focus on during the lesson. When I start tutoring individuals the first lesson is used to establish their goals and what they normally struggle with within the subject I am tutoring. Tutoring is about asking questions and working out the way that you learn best and the end goal is to get you confident in the work you may struggle with and thus not enjoy. I also like to know important project or test dates so that I am able to help prepare students in the most efficient and effective way.

I also have experience with university tutoring as I tutored first year genetics in my final year of studying. This was mostly helping with tutorials and assignments, helping them work out methods to solve answers and access the information in an easier way.

I have experience in tutoring multiple subjects but am looking to tutor in Genetics, Biology, Psychology and English.
