I have worked in education for over 15 years, supporting students within the classroom and teaching on a 1:1 and in small groups.
I have worked predominantly with SEN students, students with autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, visual impairment and medical needs, I am happy to work with mainstream students too.

I have worked in education for over 15 years, supporting students within the classroom and teaching on a 1:1 and in small groups.
I have worked predominantly with SEN students, students with autism, ADHD, physical disabilities, visual impairment and medical needs, I am happy to work with mainstream students too.
I like to make my lessons as practical as possible, so if I was teaching you maths, perhaps we would follow a recipe teaching skills such as developing basic counting skills, reading a variety of numbers, measuring out quantities, learning maths vocabulary such as units of measurement for both solids and liquids, learning both imperial and metric measurements, practising telling the time,
estimating how long things might take to cook. Does the cake need an extra couple of minutes in the oven? Learning how to get to grips with reading a recipe, which will, in turn, help you with word problems in maths, solving calculations such as halving or doubling amounts of ingredients.
If I was teaching you phonics and reading, we would be playing games to identify letters and sounds such as Rainbow Hop letter sounds game, Alphabet Phonics clip cards, Erase the sound and 4 in a row.
If I was teaching history, I might ask you to watch a documentary to find out facts about a particular time or we might use Google Earth, do a quiz, use a globe or virtually visit historical sites together.
I believe in making learning as fun and interesting as possible as that will help to keep your attention and progress your learning
