Advert description
I am a passionate mathematician and tutor with a mathematics degree and several years of experience working in analytical roles and in training/tutoring. I have always been passionate about children reaching for opportunities and developing their interests or skills. I became a tutor in order to help children or adults increase a thirst for maths, improve confidence in maths and/or build a healthy mindset towards studying maths.
I have experience in different sectors: the National Health Service, IT, Banking and Education (primary, secondary and sixth form/adult education) and I can vouch for how useful - and enjoyable - maths can be. Maths prepares students to analyse data, to make predictions and to solve complex problems - leading to a brighter future beyond the classroom!
My maths degree included statistics, applied probability and data analysis - some of which I studied through a language exchange program at a university in Germany. I combined a maths degree with languages to create travel opportunities but the maths also helped me develop a rewarding career in analysis and IT.
I believe mathematics tutoring can be immensely beneficial to everybody and can make a significant positive - and exciting - impact on a person’s life. Tutoring enables a student to revisit or reinforce concepts of learning that they may have missed or not completely understood, to bridge learning gaps, or ignite new mathematical thinking.
