Recently, I was intrigued at a Maths question given to an adolescent child. The parent of the child had posted the Maths question as they had found it challenging to solve the question. However, majority of the parents who responded to the post had voiced there frustration at being unable to solve the math problem. I was tutored by a highly talented and expert numeracy Instructor. I applied the methodology I had learned and practised over the years in my daily encounters needing numerical skills including book keeping and budgeting. I applied this methodology to the Maths question and was able to solve the problem in less than 5 minutes. It is a simple methodology that when applied and through practise, will help regain your confidence in numeracy.
