I have over 10 years of training and teaching experience, to higher institutions and companies. My students were mostly young adults, teenagers and managers.
I employ the use of mixed teaching methodologies including powerpoint presentation, one-on-one and virtual. My approach depends on the age and experience level of the learners but principally consists of group work, experience sharing, case studies, role plays or games.
I use either directing, coaching, supervision or teaching depending on the audience. My classes are usualy participatory and interractive for easy assimilation and involvement.
When it comes to assessment, I assess learners through their level of interaction, engagement and participation in the class. I also use assignments, homework, quiz and examinations as assessment tools. I allow students to ask as many probing questions as possible for possible answers. I encourage students to be open and free with me, but I still remain firm and assertive in approach by giving a boundary.
I also practice safeguarding to protect the learners from harm's way as a result of similar occurrences in the past. I try as much as possible to encourage the students to be open and frank with me when they feel unease or threatened especially from fellow studènts who tend to bully weaker or less confident fellow students. When such as case is spotted, I try to escalate to the necessary quarters to prevent eventual occurence.
Parents too are not left out of the conversation concerning their children and wards. I usually give report on timely basis as the case may be, especially with children. For managers of companies, i write formal report to the management
The report details the course, venue, date, participants, obseravtions and recommendations.
This has always stands me out in my roles.
