I would be happy to tutor any one of (Chemistry, Maths, Biology, English and History) at a GCSE level

Advert description
I am currently interrupting my studies this academic year and will be entering a third year of a law degree this coming September at the University of Manchester. in the meantime I would love to test and develop my tutoring skills at this level.

I was an all-rounder at school and received 7 A*s, 2 9's and 1 8. At sixth-form in a bid at the time to keep the option of doing medicine open, I studied Maths, Biology and Chemistry and received 3 A's. I then embarked upon a biomedical science degree with the University of Manchester before changing degree to Law during the COVID-19 pandemic. I am currently taking some time out of my studying where I would love to re-engage in some of the subject areas I have passions for and believe I have a good understanding as to how to teach these subject areas at a GCSE level.

My mum has spent most of her career in teaching and so I have huge admiration for the profession and understand just how rewarding it can be with adequate lesson planning and preparation. The structural importance of a warm-up activity, a main activity followed by a closing self-reflective task are crucial to creating a sustained process of learning and all this would come with preparation on my part as the tutor with a focus on the curriculum of the particular student.

Since my day of sitting GCSE's I understand everything to now have been numerated in it's grading system and this has come with some substantial changes to the curriculum. I am more than happy to spend the extra time surrounding lessons familiarising myself with the changes with regard to their substance and marking criteria to deliver an experience focussed on not only boosting grades but trying to inspire greater wider interest in the topics being taught.

Given my A-levels I perhaps have stronger credentials to tutor Chemistry, Biology or maths, however history and English are also passions of mine which I believe at a GCSE level I understand what extra things can be done to improve results.

In my time out from my degree, I am beginning to seriously consider pursuing teaching as a career. Tutoring at a more individual level would be the best beginning to exploring this.
