Supportive and thoughtful English language and literature lessons for ages 11-18 and adult learners

Qualified English teacher with eleven years experience in secondary teaching at KS3, KS4 and KS5. I cover both language and literature and support secondary school students with school work, homework and exam preparation.

Prior to secondary teaching I tutored ESOL learners abroad, focussing on grammar, conversational English and Business English in 1-2-1 and small group settings. If English is not your first language, I can support your learning of English.

My lessons last an hour and are tailored for either secondary students or adult learners.Having had over a decade's worth of experience working with different types of students, I understand the challenges they face and enjoy helping them make breakthroughs in areas that are stumbling blocks for them.

I really enjoy listening to the opinions and responses that learners have to texts and poetry, and find it interesting to explore their thoughts in order to help them grow.

As someone who continues to study and learn myself, most recently completing a Masters in 2019, I am competent and confident in helping students develop their thoughts in their essays and on the page.
