I have 15 years of teaching experience in a range of settings. Prior to the pandemic, I had been living and working in Naples, Italy as a freelance trainer. I was responsible for sourcing my clients, doing needs analysis, designing courses to suit individual and group learners, preparing for exams such as Cambridge exams and IELTS. I have also been completed several temporary contracts with the British Council Doha. My last position was teaching cadets general English and ESP in the Qatari Navy. This role involved cultural sensitivity, building key relationships, maintaining a rapport with the cadets and designing interesting lessons to engage the learners. I am currently teaching online lessons to learners predominantly based in Italy. Regarding my experience with corporate English, I have previously worked with Finnmeccanica training employees to allow them to communicate with their clients and suppliers. Additionally, I have worked in Multinationals in Madrid and Chile where I helped learners develop their general English skills in addition to English for business. In relation to my online experience, I have taught Italian students, French university students and refugees based in Greece.

I am from Ireland and have a diverse range of experience mentioned below in my teaching experience. My teaching style is based on the communicative method fostering an emphasis on speaking and fluency. I have lived in many countries such as Italy, Qatar, Chile, Spain and Greece so I am used to dealing with students from different backgrounds and dealing with specific needs. Teaching is a rewarding career because it allows me to build a rapport with learners and to help them achieve their goals. I enjoy meeting people from all over the world, discovering new cultures, witnessing how their language influences thier English. As part of learning English, I feel it is important to introduce authentic language in use though podcasts, TV shows, articles and short videos.

In relation to my free time, I love spending time in nature doing outdoor activities such as hiking in the mountains, swimming in Summer, running and walking. I also love cooking and trying to cook different cuisines. It is a pleasure to eat in new restaurants, speand time with family and enjoy simple pleasures. I also love reading and watching movies.

Concerning my education, I have a MA in TESOL.
