Advert description
I am an experienced chemistry tutor holding a first-class degree (MSci) in Chemistry from Imperial College London and I am currently a research postgraduate (PhD) at Imperial College London, researching novel imaging probes for brain diseases. I tutor in the West London region face-to-face, as well as online around the country. I received the award for best GCSE results (7A*, 4A), best AS results (5A), and best A2 results (3A*, 1A) from Plantsbrook School. At Imperial, I was a member of the Faculty of Natural Science Dean`s List (top 10% of chemistry students) for four years running as well as also receiving the HVA Briscoe Excellence in Inorganic Chemistry Prize in my final year. My tuition style is heavily based on answering lots of past exam questions so that students really feel comfortable with the theory, answering questions, and confident when it comes to the exams. I have been tutoring for 7 years both privately and through multiple tuition agencies for A-Level and Degree-Level Chemistry. All of the students that I have tutored have either reached or exceeded their target grade, as well as being able to secure their top-choice university places and achieve first-class degrees. Before completing my undergraduate degree, I taught for a year at Plantsbrook School assisting the science department, where I taught A-Level Chemistry as well as assisting students in revision sessions and 1-to-1 catch ups. I tutored A-Level Chemistry and Degree-Level Chemistry throughout my undergraduate degree as well as completing a teaching placement at Harris Westminster Sixth Form in my 2nd year where I helped to teach A-Level Chemistry and run lunchtime sessions which took students beyond their A-Level Specification and introduced them to some undergraduate chemistry. I also assist the Imperial College Chemistry Outreach department regularly, including teaching on their annual Chemistry Summer School for A-Level students where I demonstrate practical techniques and explain the theory behind the experiments. As a PhD student, I demonstrate in undergraduate labs and mark lab reports. My area of expertise is in inorganic chemistry, including coordination chemistry, molecular structure and MO theory, spectroscopy and characterisation, catalysis, main group, transition metal, organometallic, and lanthanide and actinide chemistry, as well as general organic synthesis.
