Advert description
In 2015 I graduated from the University of Reading with a First Class degree in the History of Art and Architecture. I was then awarded a scholarship to study an MA at the internationally renowned School of Museum Studies at the University of Leicester. I graduated with Distinction in Art Museum and Gallery Studies, and went on to complete an Internship at the Women's Art Collection owned by the University of Cambridge.
I have been working as a History of Art tutor for one year, and also work in the Art Department of Bedford Preparatory School.
I have studied teaching methodologies, am a qualified TEFL/TESOL tutor and have experience working in schools at various ages, as well as several museums and art galleries over the past 10 years.
Alongside my work as a tutor, I work in the Art Department at Bedford Preparatory School, supporting our HoD with the History of Art component of the curriculum as well as technician duties and practical lesson support. I provide cover for the art teachers, and notably covered two year groups for a six week period in the Autumn term of 2022.
I have been working as a tutor for just over a year, offering lessons and mentoring from 1 - 2 hours at all ages and levels, as well as tailored teaching for Edexcel A-Level History of Art.
Depending on the student's age, existing knowledge and goals, I offer a personal learning programme, complete with actions and sessions to achieve every student's personal goals in History of Art. My sessions are grounded in theoretical texts with an emphasis on visual material and interactive analysis. I strongly encourage independent work outside of my sessions and am happy to set & mark assignments depending on each student’s commitments.
